How many 70x140 fitted sheets do I need? Recommendation: 3-4 pieces. While toddlers wet the bed less often than infants, sweat, occasional wetting, and sometimes vomiting due to illness make quick changes necessary. With 3-4 sheets, you're always prepared – even if a change is needed at night.
Bedwetting in toddlers: For toddlers in the potty training phase (typically 2-4 years), we recommend combining a Terra Beds 70x140 fitted sheet with a waterproof mattress protector. The sheet feels soft on the skin, and the mattress protector protects the expensive children's mattress. Both are OEKO-TEX® certified and washable at 60°C.
How long will a child use a 70x140 bed? The 70x140 cm children's bed is typically used from 2 to 6 years of age – about 3-4 years. After that, most children switch to a standard 90x200 cm bed. Since the sheet will be used intensively for several years, an investment in quality is worthwhile: 200 g/m² cotton will last the entire service life with good care.
Jersey or cotton for toddlers? 100% cotton is the better choice for year-round sleeping. Cotton is more breathable – important because toddlers can lose up to 0.5 liters of sweat per night – and can be washed more hygienically at 60°C.

The fitted sheet 70x140 cm fits all children's, junior and cot beds with a mattress size of exactly 70x140 cm - the most common size for toddler beds in Germany. Please always measure the mattress size, not the outer dimensions of the bed frame.
The 70x140 cot is suitable from about 18 months, when the child outgrows the baby cot (60x120) or starts to climb out of it. There is no fixed upper age limit – some children sleep in this bed until they are 6 years old before moving to a standard bed (90x200).
For toddlers in the night weaning phase (approx. 2-4 years), we strongly recommend the combination of a fitted sheet and a waterproof mattress protector. The fitted sheet alone is not waterproof — the mattress protector permanently protects the child's mattress. Both products are available from Terra Beds in OEKO-TEX® quality.
For toddlers, pediatricians and allergists recommend changing every 1–2 weeks. For children with dust mite or pet dander allergies, wash weekly at 60°C. In case of bedwetting, always change immediately and wash at 60°C.
The 60×120 fitted sheet fits standard baby cribs, the 70×140 fits toddler and junior beds. The length grows from 120 to 140 cm, the width from 60 to 70 cm. Important: The sizes are NOT interchangeable — a 60×120 sheet will not fit securely on a 70×140 mattress, and vice versa.
