Size GuideWhy Choose Terra Beds Children's Fitted Sheets 70×140 cm?
The Fitted Sheet 70×140 cm is the standard size for toddler and junior beds during the transition from the baby cot. This first big bed is a big step for your child — and the bedding needs to do three things: fit securely (no pulling out when kicking), be free of harmful substances (direct skin contact for 10–12 hours per night), and stay easy to care for (children soil bedding significantly more than adults).
Terra Beds offers the Children's Fitted Sheet 70×140 cm made from 100% cotton with 160 g/m² fabric weight, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, with all-around elastic and in 10 child-friendly colors — for safe, relaxed nights in the new bed.

Buying Children's Fitted Sheets 70×140 cm — What Parents Need to Know
How many 70×140 fitted sheets do I need? Recommendation: 3–4. Toddlers wet the bed less often than infants, but sweat, occasional accidents, and sometimes vomiting during illness make quick changes necessary. With 3–4 sheets, you're always prepared — even if a change is needed at night.
Bedwetting in toddlers: For toddlers in the night-training phase (typically 2–4 years), we recommend combining the Terra Beds 70×140 fitted sheet with a waterproof mattress protector. The sheet feels soft against the skin, while the mattress protector protects the expensive children's mattress. Both are OEKO-TEX® certified and washable at 60°C.
How long will a child use the 70×140 bed? The 70×140 cm children's bed is typically used from age 2 to 6 — about 3–4 years. After that, most children move to a standard 90×200 cm bed. Since the sheet is used intensively for several years, quality is worth investing in: 160 g/m² cotton holds up for the entire period with proper care.
Jersey or cotton for toddlers? 100% cotton is the better choice for year-round sleeping. Cotton is more breathable — important, since toddlers can lose up to 0.5 liters of sweat per night — and can be washed more hygienically at 60°C.

Frequently Asked Questions About the 70×140 cm Children's Fitted Sheet
The 70×140 cm fitted sheet fits all children's, junior, and toddler beds with a mattress size of exactly 70×140 cm — the most common size for toddler beds in Germany. Always measure the mattress size, not the bed frame's outer dimensions.
The 70×140 children's bed is suitable from around 18 months, when a child outgrows the baby cot (60×120) or starts climbing out of it. There's no fixed upper age — some children sleep in this bed until age 6 before moving to a standard bed (90×200).
For toddlers in the night-training phase (roughly 2–4 years), we strongly recommend combining the fitted sheet with a waterproof mattress protector. The fitted sheet alone is not waterproof — the mattress protector protects the children's mattress long-term. Both products are available from Terra Beds in OEKO-TEX® quality.
For toddlers, pediatricians and allergists recommend changing every 1–2 weeks. For children with dust or pet allergies, wash weekly at 60°C. Always change and wash at 60°C immediately after bedwetting.
The 60×120 fitted sheet fits standard baby cots, while the 70×140 fits toddler and junior beds. The length grows from 120 to 140 cm and the width from 60 to 70 cm. Important: the sizes are NOT interchangeable — a 60×120 sheet won't sit securely on a 70×140 mattress, and vice versa.
Yes, as long as the bunk bed mattress measures 70×140 cm and isn't higher than 15 cm. Many children's bunk beds have mattresses in exactly this size. The all-around elastic ensures the sheet stays securely in place even on harder-to-reach bunk bed mattresses and won't slip off.
